Art Linkletter left the limelight so long ago that very few post Boomers even recognize the name, let alone have any idea of the clever and genial ways his style prepared us for the irony of Letterman and the antics of Conan. A uniquely talented TV pioneer has left the set for good, with the appreciation of many who met him during our earliest years, way before today's culture wars and intense media saturation. NPR remembers here. RIP, old friend.
